Congratulations, the follow-up to MGMT’s excellent 2007 debut Oracular Spectacular, hits your local record store and (legal-type) MP3 download sites today, and here’s the video for the first single, “Flash Delirium.” Now, you don’t press play on an MGMT video without expecting some weird and potentially disturbing crap to go down (remember their video for “Kids”?), and while “Flash Delirium” seems to start off pretty staid and normal, just wait.

Umm… bizarre. I’ve listened through the album twice and it doesn’t have the immediate knock-your-socks-off reaction of their debut album, but that’s to be expected, since that album was so damn good. I’ll need to listen to this for a few weeks I think to really get a good feel of it.

I agree – it doesn’t seem to have quite the catchy hooks that Oracular Spectacular had. But I’ve only listened through it once, and I was doing other things at the same time.

love MGMT more than ever, so deep..the people welcoming him home are us the fans. They are searching for the Electric Eel which is the next hit like Electric Feel or Kids. Andrew and Ben are trying to hide it because they don’t want to go back to it. But they find it and they put it in the machine and make the next hit whic…h they dance to, and you can see Ben and Andrew aren’t happy about it
