It literally took me about four years to become a YYYs fan, because I first heard them back around the time "Show Your Bones" came out. It was actually someone here, Goon I think, that suggested I listen to YYYs instead of Metric (I decided to do it "in addition to" rather than "instead"), and that's what really pushed me into getting "It's Blitz," which I loved almost immediately. But yeah, seeing them live is great - they do a really carefully produced, polished live show, which I often don't like as much as raw, all-over-the-place shows, but Karen O is so charismatic, it's hard not be sucked in.

Yeah, I find I can't use Neko as a seed on internet radio stations yet, because they'll give me stuff that's too country for me. But the sound that she and Jenny Lewis (in "Acid Tongue," not the earlier albums) and Amy Millan (in her solo work, not with Broken Social Scene or Stars) have been perfecting - that I love to bits. I might have to go back and listen to more of the older stuff.

Liked the Decemberists one (especially the Rakes Song), still not a YYY fan. I think I need to see them live to get the full experience or something. There's a couple on your list that I need to check out. Really loving the Camera Obscura one. If i had done an honorable mention, it would have been on it. Neko's a bridge to pure country music. I just loved your take on this. Her voice is right on par with some of the legends like Patsy Cline. I've been going back and listening to a lot of that classic country, and finding I love a lot of it. Before it was hijacked by pop producers and Viacom (MTV).
