My Christmas Gift
At a paltry 259.99 retail, anyone should be able to bring me extra cheer this year by purchasing one of the new Beatles box sets, available in both “Mono” and “Stereo”. As much as I’ve loved the Beatles music over the years, the quality of the CD recordings always sounded somewhat thin to me. The new releases (supposedly) sound richer and more alive than the original CD mixes. The original analog tapes have been remastered and from the initial reviews, it appears the “Mono” version might be superior to the “Stereo” even taking in to account the lack of “Yellow Submarine”, “Abbey Road” and “Let It Be” due to them being recorded in stereo from the get go. Not that I’d balk at all at receiving the stereo set, after all, I’m not a greedy man. Also for a limited time, some “Making-Of” documentaries are included so don’t delay and let’s “Meet The Beatles” all over again.
