Not that Kayne being a gay fish is any kind of breaking news – we’ve known it for years – but good lord, he just took his douchery to an entirely new level. I don’t think I have ever watched the MTV VMAs, but when I got a text from a friend to search YouTube for “Kanye West Taylor Swift” and I saw what happened tonight at the awards show, I almost couldn’t believe it. That is to say, had it not been Kayne West making the beyond-douche move, I may not have believed it. So, I figured I’d add my two cents, just as I am sure the internet will be storming with write-ups about this tomorrow. Granted, I might be amused by this usually, as I don’t take these kind of awards shows seriously (for chrissake, that Asher Roth dude was up for Best New Artist), certainly not an MTV awards show – but this girl is 19 years old. She just won Best Female Music Video as a country singer, and this sumbitch, this self-proclaimed “voice of a generation,” pulled this shit? What a fucking ninny.

The “apology” he posted on his blog shortly after (all in caps) is even more baffling. I think he is perhaps the most delusional pop icon in America. Somebody needs to give him a good testicle punch, and hopefully it is the ghost of Michael Jackson.

My favorite part of this all is the music artist Pink’s immediate Twitter update after this incident took place: “Kanye west is the biggest piece of shit on earth. Quote me.” Heh. And props to Beyonce for bringing Swift back on stage later on to finish her acceptance speech.
