Music Video: White Rabbits – Percussion Gun
I never would have thought that going into a concert for Spoon and The Walkmen that the show would just about be stolen by the little relatively unknown opening act, White Rabbits. The six-piece dual vocalist indie rock band took the stage, knowing that most people were there for the two acts following them and that they were going to have to put on a hell of a show to win the crowd over – and win the crowd over they did. They had an insane amount of energy on stage, pounding away some piano-infused rock in their button-ups and blazers, switching instruments mid-song, and the best part? Two drummers. Oh yeah!
Their second album, It’s Frightening, was just released and it is absolutely addicting (and not surprisingly if you listen to it, produced by Spoon frontman Brit Daniels) and I have a feeling that come the end of the year, you’ll be seeing it make plenty of “best album” lists.
Check out their video for “Percussion Gun” below. It’s incredible. You can listen to the rest of their album on their MySpace.

So great to hear that they're terrific live. It's in heavy rotation in my car and my house.

Thanks for posting this, Jonathan. I've been hearing a lot of buzz around White Rabbits, but hadn't actually gotten around to listening to anything. Will probably check out the album now.

Grabbing “It's Frightening” right now. Thanks for this. It sounds awesome.
PS – I saw The Appleseed Cast last night. They kicked a lot of ass. Too much actually. My head still hurts and my ears are still ringing.

No friggin' way. Jealous. They aren't even on tour, are they? I didn't even realize they have a new album out until just now. I'm grabbing that one now.
I wish I had money to go to any concerts at all this summer. I missed a free The Black Keys show down in Pittsburgh a couple of weeks ago because I was out of town.

Funny. As I was illegally downloading White Rabbits, little did I know they were actually playing a club about 5 miles from my house. Had no idea until just now.
Damn.
And Appleseed Cast played the club one block up the street. It's a tiny little place and I can't believe they played there. It was a good time though. My roommate took a shit ton of pictures. I'll post some later once she send them to me.
