The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.

I'm a huge Hemingway fanboy. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie in the works about the final days of his life, his dealings with alcoholism and depression also – as long as they give due time to his literary genius. I'd love to see some of his interactions with some other authors although that was more in his earlier years, like with Fitzgerald in the 20s and 30s.

His interactions with Fitzgerald would be enough for a movie on its own, and there is some amazing stuff there to do a story on. Hemingway took me a long time to like, and once I did, I was kicking myself for taking so long.

There is a fantastic audiobook of The Sun Also Rises read by William Hurt that is amazing. I've left it in my iPod and even when it comes up on shuffle, I listen to it. I've probably heard the novel a dozen times by now.
