While I just sort of feel obligated, this is still pretty awesome from the King of Pop…

Man, Michael defined cool for an entire generation. It's a shame that most young people today only remember him for his weirdness, for the molestation allegations, the plastic surgery, etc. because man, this dude could dance and sing like no other before or after. We were discussing this and the only other artist I think that could give him a run for his money as the BIGGEST of all time would be Elvis.

His story is a tragic one though. While I don't want to make light of the fact that he slept in bed with little boys and didn't seem to find anything wrong with that, Michael never had a chance to live. From the time he was 5 or 6, he became a superstar, and whereas most child stars fade out and can proceed to have a normal life, he only ended up becoming a bigger star – much by the force of his asshole, money-grubbing father. It's sad.

But hell, he entertained people for decades. Personal life aside, he was a musical god.

So I just figured out today that the house where Michael Jackson grew up on Hayvenhurst Ave in Encino? Is a block and a half away from my apartment. Which explains the road blockage and massive numbers of media vehicles that have been there since Friday.

That picture is pretty awesome. I could never figure out how he did that and though I've seen others do it, it never looked quite the same as when the King of Pop did it.

Do you want me to tell you how he did it… or do you want to keep the magic of the unknown?
