I love this book, great choice. I think I have read all of Orwell’s books, 1984 cementing my adolescent awareness of the magic of literature. but down and out sticks with me the most, because I know it so well, that particular hunger and decay.

I've only read 1984 and Animal Farm for the first time late last year. I still have a lot of catching up to do with Orwell.

Christian – if you have the time, pick up Down and Out in Paris and London. I've read quite a bit of his work and it'd put it behind only 1984. It's a masterpiece.

Also, anyone else check out George Orwell's blog? Fascinating stuff: http://orwelldiaries.wordpress.com/
